We did some desert hiking. There are cliffs in the area, so be cautions and maybe stick to the trails unless you're an experienced rock climber or scrambler.

We discovered a small pond (oasis?) on one of our hikes. Water was a little brisk to swim this time of year, but good to know about for summer.

Outside look of where the Union Army shot cannons at Fort Pulaski. Years later and it's still standing.

We went to Fort Pulaski on its 150th anniversary. Crazy to think that people were in the middle of the Civil War shooting cannons at each other from a mile away.

I can only image what this looked like during the battle. It's in good condition still. You are able to walk around most of the inside but there is nothing there.
