This abstract art was done in a town south of Raipur. We hired a driver for the 3 days and drove south.
The crew manually powered the crankshaft attached to the propeller.
The first time it sunkin 1863 it had 5 crew, the second time 15 crew. Charleston was so eager to break the blockade they tried a 3rd time and was able to sink the ship the USS Houstonac, the first ever by a submerged vessel!. No Yankee ingenuity here as is was southern engineered :)
The barnacle/mud buildup that attached to the old iron is referred to as concrete. They are slowely removing it. The top looks good in this pic.
