Hmmmm... Inside Heathrow airport they are going the correct "American" direction. Outside the airport they go the incorrect "English" direction. Must cause confusion for the locals!
I bought a replica of this set about 20 years ago for my eldest son. Recognized the pieces immediately. This was made in the 12th century. Discovered in 1831 on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland
Rolling ball clock, about 1820. A ball bearing would roll in a zigzag pattern across the plate. When it reached the other side the plate tilted the other way so it would roll back from whence it came from. I could watch this thing for hours
