The stupa has Buddhas eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, the number one (in Devanagari script) is painted in the fashion of a nose. The name means Sublime Trees. It is probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Site is on top of a hill that you take a long staircase up to.

Treated myself to dinner and a beer at one of the many rooftop restaurants

Mostly on the spicy side! I loved these rooftop restaurants. Big change from the noisy streets. Potted plants give a garden atmosphere for eating.

Beautiful historical old style hotel in the Thamel district with a newer addition if you prefer more comfort. Quiet Nice garden oasis insulated from the noisy town. I was able to walk to all the temples I wanted to see from it
