Constructed in 1910 to protect the railroad from rocks and avalanches
Goes under the mountain for 3 miles. Bring a jacket (it's much colder in the tunnel) and flashlight (or make sure your phone is charged enough to use the flashlight).
Ran out of water? No worries! Water is safe to drink from and tasted better than bottled water:)
If you choose to return after the tunnel the return trip is much quicker as the trail is slightly sloped upward towards the tunnel. The rest is a casual cycle down.
